Highlighting Student Honors, Staff Awards, and Community Pride

Marble Falls ISD proudly recognized outstanding students and staff who exemplify the district’s mission to love every child and inspire them to achieve their fullest potential.

Superintendent Awards: Breeanna Paulk & Isaiah Bedell

Two students from Falls Career High School, Breeanna Paulk and Isaiah Bedell, were honored with the Superintendent Award for their character, work ethic, and lasting impact. Selected through a campus-wide voting process, they stood out as student leaders and role models.

“Every student is considered, and these two rose to the top instantly,” shared Principal Clark Fields. “They represent the heart of Falls.”

Paulk, who graduated in January, was celebrated for her positivity and leadership, particularly through her work in the campus coffee shop. Bedell, a December graduate, was recognized for his determination, respectfulness, and academic drive.

Going the Extra Mile: Maria Mata

Maria Mata, Behavior Coordinator at EPIC, received the GEM Award for her 12 years of service and leadership in supporting students, particularly Emergent Bilinguals. She launched a new language support class at Falls, eliminating barriers for non-English speaking students and ensuring they have a strong start.
Described by colleagues as “a true gem” and “a problem solver,” Mata is also praised for her constant positivity and dedication.

Spotlight on Excellence: Heather Hamilton

Heather Hamilton, ACE Coordinator at Marble Falls Middle School, was recognized for growing the program to over 275 students—with a waitlist. A Marble Falls graduate, Hamilton brings heart and energy to everything she does.

She also contributes beyond campus—baking for the Education Foundation and community events like Purse Bingo. “Whatever little thing I can do to help—that’s my passion,” she shared.

Spotlight on Engagement: Cameron Hattig

Cameron Hattig, a Pre-K teacher at Marble Falls Elementary, received the Spotlight on Engagement for creating a joyful, active, and engaging learning environment.
“She anticipates misunderstandings and turns them into learning opportunities,” said a colleague. Assistant Superintendent Yarda Leflet added, “Her classroom is a place we didn’t want to leave.”

Bus Driver of the Year: Doug Lawley

Doug Lawley was named both the 2024–2025 MFISD Bus Driver of the Year and the Regional Bus Driver of the Year by PCAT. He serves students from Colt Elementary and Marble Falls Middle with unmatched care and professionalism.

After noticing low visibility during early morning routes, Lawley advocated for blinking lights on student backpacks to increase safety—just one example of how he goes above and beyond. “He is a role model of safety, kindness, and dedication,” said Director of Transportation Gina Solorzano.

Marble Falls ISD is proud to highlight those who go above and beyond to uplift students and strengthen the district community.
