The Marble Falls ISD Board of Trustees meeting in February celebrated the achievements of students, educators, and staff making a lasting impact in the district. Four individuals were recognized for their dedication, leadership, and commitment to student success.

Superintendent’s Award: Emmerson Ramos and Travis Lutz
Marble Falls Middle School Principal Rudy Gonzalez introduced eighth-grade students Emmerson Ramos and Travis Lutz as the February Superintendent Award recipients. Both students were honored for their leadership, kindness, and contributions to their school community. Teachers described Emmerson as a role model with a strong work ethic, positivity, and a willingness to stand up for what’s right. Travis was praised for his maturity, self-advocacy, and leadership, with teachers highlighting his dedication to academics and support for peers.

Going the Extra Mile (GEM) Award: Shelley Cochran
Marble Falls Middle School teacher Shelley Cochran was honored with the GEM Award for her dedication to students and her positive impact on campus. Colleagues praised her as a leader in the special education department, highlighting her ability to support both students and fellow educators. She was described as the “glue” that holds the team together, always advocating for student success.

Spotlight on Excellence: Thomas Jacobs
The Spotlight on Excellence Award was presented to Thomas Jacobs for his outstanding service within the district and the broader community. In addition to his work in the district’s maintenance department, Mr. Jacobs is a dedicated volunteer firefighter who recently assisted in wildfire relief efforts in California. “I couldn’t do this without the incredible support from my school district community, my firefighter community, and my family,” he said.

Spotlight on Engagement: Emily Mendoza
Emily Mendoza, a Health Science teacher at Marble Falls High School, was recognized for her innovative and hands-on teaching methods. She engages students through creative projects and grant-funded initiatives that inspire future healthcare professionals. Her dedication to student success sets her apart as a leader in the classroom.

The Marble Falls ISD Board of Trustees expressed deep appreciation for all honorees, reaffirming the district’s commitment to celebrating excellence in education.
